Quality Assurance & Documentation

What you can verify matters more than what a supplier claims. This page sets out the documentation that ships with your order, how heat-number traceability is maintained, and how approval requirements are handled. Certification schemes are issued to a named legal entity for a named site and scope — so rather than listing scheme names as if they were ours, we confirm the applicable approvals per order against the facility that actually executes the work, including certificate number, scope, address and validity date.

AS9100D

Aerospace Quality Management System

The premier quality standard for the aviation, space, and defense industries. Ensures rigorous process control, risk management, and traceability for all aerospace-grade titanium products.

Specialized quality system for medical device manufacturing. Ensures titanium materials used in surgical implants, instruments, and devices meet stringent biocompatibility and cleanliness standards.

CE Marking

European Conformity

Indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area. Required for titanium products entering the EU market.

Pressure Equipment Directive

European directive governing the design, manufacture, and conformity assessment of pressure equipment. Critical for titanium used in heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems.

NACE MR0175

Sour Service Compliance

International standard for metallic materials used in oil and gas production environments containing hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Guarantees resistance to sulfide stress cracking in sour service conditions.

Quality Control Process

Raw Material Verification

Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing at receiving. Every heat lot is verified against mill test certificates before entering production.

In-Process Inspection

Dimensional checks and ultrasonic testing (UT) during production. Real-time monitoring ensures each processing step meets specification requirements.

Final Inspection

100% ultrasonic testing, penetrant testing (PT), dimensional measurement, and visual inspection. Release requires final QC sign-off against the inspection plan agreed for your order.

Documentation Package

Complete documentation including Mill Test Certificate (MTC), UT report, dimensional inspection report, and product photos. Traceability is maintained by heat number across each processing stage.

What Ships With Your Order

The document package is agreed before production, not assembled afterwards. Anything not listed here can be added to the inspection plan at order stage.

Material certification

  • EN 10204 Type 3.1 — mill test certificate issued by a quality representative of the actual material manufacturer, independent of the production department. We obtain the original, check it against the heat number and pass it through with the goods; we do not issue it in the manufacturer's place.
  • EN 10204 Type 3.2 — where required, endorsed jointly by the manufacturer's quality representative and your authorised representative or an independent body. This must be written into the inspection plan before production starts, not requested after shipment.

Traceability chain

Heat identity is carried through every stage:

Sponge / alloy charge → ingot melt number → billet or forging-rolling lot → heat-treatment furnace charge → finished lot → cut piece or part number

Test reports available

  • Chemistry — laboratory optical emission or ICP. Oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen by inert gas fusion; carbon and sulphur by combustion infrared. Handheld XRF is used for material identification only, never as the basis of a formal chemical report.
  • Hydrogen content — tested and reported as a release condition after pickling and after welding. Hydrogen pickup leaves no visible trace on the surface, so it is verified by measurement rather than inspection.
  • Mechanical — tensile, hardness, bend, flattening and impact as applicable to the product form.
  • NDT — ultrasonic and penetrant testing to the product standard or your specification, with acceptance class and reference reflectors agreed in advance.
  • Metallography — grain size, microstructure, and alpha-case depth with sampling location and measured maximum and average.
  • Dimensional — inspection report, CMM-based for critical features.

Retention

Samples and records are retained for 3 years on standard industrial orders. For aerospace, medical, nuclear and long-term agreements this extends to 10 years or the period your contract specifies.
